I keep having these dreams that terrify me. I don't know what to do about them. The only place I can sleep without being haunted horribly with the ouch and the I-Think-I'm-Actually-There tid-bits is in the church. It's really bugging me. I've prayed, I've talked with my parents and for a time the nitemares stopped... then about 3 days ago, they started again.

well, Here we go I my self am a chicken I am afraid of the dark I hate anything scary I don't go to scary places around halloween I don't see scary movies I don't listen to scary stories etc. I am the biggest freak there is so this is what I find that helps:1 pray for comfort (note: don't get out of bed if you don't want to just say it in your heart and really believe that you will be comforted, and make sure you are sincere also remember heavenly father (if you are mormon) loves you and he will watch over you, you can never be harmed unless he knows of it and does it for your good or unless you put it upon your self.) 2 avoid think about scary things ( I was told by several people who are old and experinced that I trust that the devils angel's can only be there if you let them I know this works so try it tell the devil to leave no ungood or scared thought comes from God and if you tell him to leave because you are a Daughter/ son of God and there is preisthood in your home or even if there isn't you have the power to repel the devil.)3 listen to music before you go to sleep and if your cd player can put it on sleep. something relaxing or religous. 4 try and figure out the origination of the dreams or why they scare you analyze them until they make sense then you might be able to cut off the problem. 5 if the dreams do or do not end think up an ending of epologe (if they have an ending) that changes the meaning of the dream or makes the turn out ok or even end funny and 6 if none of these work I would suggest talking to your seminary teacher ( it you have one) I might be able to help you more if you want if you gave me a bit more detail.

What I find helps is that if you ever start thinking about anything remotely scary or creepy or just... creepy start singing a hymn. Inside if you don't want to sing it out loud. If you do it often enough it will become habit. I know from experience. I would sing either A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief, Praise to the Man, or Joseph Smith's First Prayer) Listening to music really helps too. I know because my sister has these problems a lot. Pray, and read your scriptures before you go to bed (if you're mormon). Try and end the day thinking about positive things.

Thats the problem. I don't think of anything scary! For instance, the night the mildest dream came to me, I was thinking of an episode of edd, ed N' eddy and that night I had a freakish dream that had nothing to do with edd, ed, N' eddy.

Thats ok. I had a dream about Kim Possible last night. It was... pretty werid. Drakken wanted his sidekick to kiss him... otherwise he wouldn't give back that thingamajigger. It was scary... in a way. (Yes, I do have werid dreams. Don't critisisme.) (Yes, I do watch Kim Possible)

Nothing really helps me sleep. When I read for an hour and half, I generally am able to sleep pretty well... but thats only during the summer I can do that and sometimes not even that. It's not that i'm agitated... No, Cd's do not help.. unfourtunatly. I wish they did. If anything, they make the dreams worse. I guess I'm a hopless cause.

Wow, I just had a nightmare, the first since I was like 6. Icky. Well as you can see I am working away from it by posting, my lights are on and i'm talking to my fish, I'm also listening to a book on tape. They seem to be helping.

When I have a nightmare, I usually just have to lay in bed (or is it lie?) or read. I have a nightlight in the bathroom if I feel like I need it, but I usually don't. Oh well. Nightmares are scary. I had one a long time ago that was really scary and I couldn't get rid of it for a long time. It eventually went away, but I still remember it vividly.

I've had some really freaky dreams lately too. It's freaky. I have lots of issues with sleeping. 1, I have nightmares 2-i can never get to sleep 3- i'm restless at night 4 I'm so freakin tired during the day (but can't sleep) and on and on. Sorry, I'm not helping either. When I had troubles with my nightmares, I asked this one person I know on myspace.com He said that he could control his dreams, and I asked him to help me to do the same. But I think his computer exploded or something, because he didn't say anything. SLEEPING ISSUES SUCK!!! (I know that very well.)
Sorry you're having problems.
